A stuck screw can prove to be the ultimate nuisance, the proverbial "thorn in one's side" as craftsmen strive to complete a project or repair. Stuck and stubborn screws are generally caused by rust and corrosion that accumulates and sticks around the screw's body. To release the screw, you must break it loose from the corrosion that binds it.

Typically caused by the inevitable rust and corrosion that occurs inside a screw hole, a stuck screw can be an incredibly frustrating thing to work with. Not only can it slow a project down, but it can throw a wet wool blanket over anybody's good mood. This corrosion effectively locks a screw into place and removing the thing can potentially destroy the screw itself or, worse yet, the material it's embedded in. Fortunately, though, there are few sure-fire methods that will help you remove a stuck screw with relative ease and minimal annoyance.

Before beginning to beat-up your screw, though, please be sure you have the correct size and type of screwdriver; the wrong one can strip the screw-head making it incredibly more difficult to remove and virtually impossible without destroying it altogether.

All craftsmen have experienced the terror and toils of stuck bolts and screws; these tasks can quickly turn into some of the toughest jobs in the shop. When a screw or bolt gets stuck, or its head has been stripped or broken, it can be truly impossible to extract it. Craftsmen will go to excessive lengths, using excessive force to remove these frozen screws; but when the dust settles, craftsmen find the screw extractor. A screw extractor is a small, and yet miraculous device that gets into the center of a stuck screw, and releases its grips from the inside out.

Sometimes stuck screws or bolts can prove to be one of the biggest frustrations in the shop. Using a screw extractor, however, can eliminate that stress and get that screw loose with minimal time and effort. Before resorting to the most drastic measures, the screw extractor provide relief in eliminating that stuck screw.
